The club was formed during the period of July 1979 through February 1980. On the night of February 23, 1980, the club charter was signed at Rotary International in Chicago. This coincided with the 75th Anniversary of the founding of Rotary. The club will celebrate its 44th Anniversary on the 23rd of February 2024.

Since its inception, the club and its members have been involved in both local and international charitable activities. The members participate in international activities through the Rotary Foundation.  Our club started a water project for a village in Zambia in 2007 which has now grown and supported by 19 Rotary Clubs with currently 48 projects in process for villages and schools supporting water and sanitation needs in the countries of: India, Honduras South Africa, Eswatini, and Zambia.

Locally the club has supported needy organizations primarily through our Annual Golf Tournament Fundraiser and Annual Wind Dinner We support: ARC of Loudoun, ECHO Every Citizen has Opportunities, ARC of Northern Virginia, Service Source and Cops for Kids. Additionally, we perform quarter projects that support other local charities on a case-by-case basis. We are most proud of our scholarship program that has raised over $400,000 since 2006 for students who have a financial need, give back to community, and have good grades.
