The Committee for Dulles has been an advocate for the airport and the Dulles corridor for more than 50 years. Here are some of the issues that we have been working on:
Transportation
- The Committee joined 20 chambers of commerce and other local business organizations to support the Goodwin Drive Extension as the locally-preferred location for long-term improvements to the Route 28 Corridor in Prince William County. This proposed option offers the greatest congestion relief at the lowest cost. The Prince William County Board of Supervisors overturned their previous vote, choosing to proceed with the extension on September 8, 2020.
- The Committee for Dulles opposes a proposal for an annual six-percent increase in Dulles Greenway tolls over the next five years. CFD's Interim Executive Director Scott Ross testified before the State Corporation Commission on June 30, 2020.
Development
- CFD opposes a residential housing application in Fairfax County that would build new townhomes directly under the IAD flight path and inside the airport noise overlay area known as 65-70 LDN.
